Frameworks
The strategic ideas behind Quincy's work with founders and leadership teams. The Golden Spiral™ and Brand-Backed Performance™ were created by Meghan Conyers, Creative Director and Co-Founder of The Branded Agency — Quincy supports her and the agency with brand, growth and strategy. Each methodology is summarized here and documented in full on the agency's site.

Brand Truth
Brand Truth is the factual core of a company: what it genuinely does best, who it serves best, and why that matters to those customers. It is discovered, not invented — through customer conversations, team interviews, and honest examination of where the company actually wins. It matters because positioning built on aspiration instead of truth collapses under market contact. Use it at the start of any brand or repositioning engagement, before messaging or design begins.
Green Space
Green Space is the unoccupied or underserved position in a market where a company's Brand Truth can win. It is identified by mapping customer needs against how competitors are perceived, then finding the intersection of what customers value, what competitors ignore, and what the company can credibly own. It matters because competing head-on in crowded positions raises the cost of every customer acquired. Use it when entering a market, launching a product, or repositioning against established players.
The Golden Spiral™
Created by Meghan Conyers, Creative Director and Co-Founder of The Branded Agency.
The Golden Spiral™ is The Branded Agency's iterative methodology for building brands that evolve without losing their centre. It connects Brand Truth, customer insight, positioning, creative expression, market activation, customer experience, and continuous learning in a repeating cycle — each pass through the spiral sharpens the brand rather than reinventing it. It matters because brands are never finished; markets move and brands must compound rather than restart. Use it as the operating cadence for long-term brand building.

Created by Meghan Conyers, Creative Director and Co-Founder of The Branded Agency.
Brand-Backed Performance™ is The Branded Agency's approach to connecting brand strategy and brand design with websites, creative, media, conversion, retention, search, and measurable growth. The premise: brand and performance are one system. Strong positioning makes every marketing dollar work harder, and disciplined measurement keeps brand decisions accountable to business results. Use it when brand investment and performance marketing feel like competing budgets instead of a compounding engine.
Learn more at The Branded Agency (opens in a new tab)Brand design as a performance layer
Brand design as a performance layer means treating design decisions — identity, interface, voice, photography — as inputs to business outcomes rather than aesthetic preferences. Design shapes whether a buyer trusts you in the first seconds, understands you in the first minute, and remembers you a week later. It matters because those moments directly affect conversion, pricing power, and referral. Use it whenever design is being evaluated: ask what the design needs to accomplish, not only how it looks.
Why marketing cannot fix poor positioning
Marketing amplifies; it does not clarify. When positioning is weak — when buyers cannot quickly grasp what you are, who it is for, and why it matters — more spend produces more confusion, faster. The tell is discounting: when positioning does no work, price does all of it. It matters because positioning problems are routinely misdiagnosed as marketing problems, and the fix is upstream. Use this lens before increasing any marketing budget: is the constraint the message volume, or the message's foundation?
The role of human strategy in an AI-assisted world
AI changes execution, not strategy. It compresses the cost of producing content, creative, analysis, and code — which raises the value of the decisions those outputs serve. Human strategy is the layer that chooses the audience, the position, the trade-offs, and the standard of judgement AI output is measured against. It matters because when everyone can produce more, advantage shifts to those who decide better. Use this framing when evaluating where AI belongs in your marketing organization.
